GIVING THANKS:
Owning The Medicine You Carry
“The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away.”
David Viscott
Hello Everyone,
I hope this email finds you and finds you well. With so much going on in our outer worlds from pandemics to hurricanes to wild-fires to political divisions, I am called to remind us all to go inside and focus on the only real part of life we can change; ourselves. The topic that has been tickling my field for a while now is one that seems to pop up in many of the individual sessions I do lately. We all have an individual gift that is unique and special to our own personal make-up. Much like a song might come through to a talented singer. your special medicine is your unique and special imprint; like a thumbprint. Perhaps you never thought that you carried anything like this. Perhaps you feel like gifts belong to others. But I can assure you, that each and every one of you has a special gift to offer. I call this gift your medicine. And, the more you follow your heart, the more you will know about what your gift is and how it wants to flow forth from you. My feeling is that our higher selves really want us to understand what we carry in our energetic backpacks along this road called life, especially now when our world seems so turbulent. Now more than ever, spirit is calling you to find your gift and step into the medicine you carry.
Many of the clients I work with are working at a job that they feel is just o.k. I remind you that it’s not always what we do for our financial compensation that channels our medicine. Sometimes our medicine channels through us on our off time. This is great too! Let’s do a check-in now: are you feeling drained each day or perhaps struggling with some mild depression where life just seems to be a monotonous cycle of day in and day out routine? Do you look forward to collapsing into bed at night; hoping to start over the next day? If so, perhaps there’s some untapped part of you that is asking to be born. So I ask you, “what deeply motivates you?” For example, I am deeply motivated by connecting with my higher self and then connecting with others in a heart-felt way. In fact, I love doing this so much that I have made a business out of it. I am blessed and I know it. But my blessings come from how very, very much I love what I do each day. My work is equal amounts of love and blessings. So, what do you truly love? What aspect of life absolutely blows your preverbal skirt up? What can you just not live well without doing each day? Perhaps you have a particular connection with plants. You love them, they love you and you feel better when you’re fiddling with them. Then how about gardening more often as a way of connecting with spirit and allowing your gifts to come through? If you live in a city, get a window box or simply go sit in a park and commune with the trees. It doesn’t matter really, as long as you are connecting in a way that satisfies you. My wife Abby has many, many talents. Recently, she’s discovered how much she loves cooking and feeding her friends. She will spend hours pouring over new recipes, going to all three grocery stores in town and creating absolutely mouth-watering concoctions; all to just offer out to others. I see her creative juices flow in the kitchen and I am, not only super happy for her, but really benefiting from these meals as well!
Some people I’ve met are really good listeners. If this is you, perhaps your medicine is holding space for others. This medicine is a really big blessing because I have always felt that true love is simply witnessing another. So, if your medicine is that of listening and witnessing others, you are a very important part of this world. Consider what you are already doing that is easy and deeply appreciated by others. Most likely this is the medicine I am talking about. I remember when I discovered that my gift, my true medicine, was doing readings and healings for others. I couldn’t believe it was that simple. But I’ve learned over time, that if it comes with ease and grace, it’s coming from spirit. Allow yourself to tune-in to your heart and your happiness and allow YOU to flow through this holiday season in a way that truly feeds your soul.
Sending you all so much love!
Sweet Blessings,
Angie
